Obituary of Pauline Sina Rivera

Pauline Sina Rivera was born on July 2, 1962 in Riverside, California. She was the oldest of four children to Leka & Fuapepe Vaotuua. Her siblings being Leka Vaotuua Jr, Fuapepe Maiava, Elizabeth Tufele & Ross Vaotuua. She accepted Jesus Christ in her heart as her Lord & Savior at 8 years old in a Baptist Sunday School class. Baptized with the Holy Spirit & speaking in tongues as a 10 yr old in her very own bedroom in Fontana. They moved to Oxnard in 1976, where her parents started a church plant for the Samoan Assemblies of God & was then later water baptized as a teenager. She attended & graduated from the Heritage School of Evangelism and Communication of PTL Ministries in North Carolina where she also received The Agape Award. Mom was happily married to her best friend, love of her life and, husband Benjamin Rivera Jr which they celebrated 32 years of marriage on November 11th of this year. She was proud and grateful to be the mother of her two 30 year old miracle twins Lacey  & Matthew who were born 10 minutes apart & 2 weeks early. The doctor told her she would never have children, but God had better plans ‘cause His ways are higher. Mom was honored to be called mom by her son-in-law Guillermo de la Rosa whom she loved just as he was her own. She has 3 growing grandchildren Elias Alexander, Jonathan Gabriel & Ava Hope who she adored very much. They were as she would say the apple of her eye, the sweetness in her latte, the frosting on her cookie and the spice in her life. Mom was a 3rd generation pastor since both her parents & grandparents were pastors as well. She began pastoring in 1998 at South Coast Fellowship, working with children, youth, prisons, missions to Mexico, Hawaii, Belize, Honduras, LA & NY. She has a love and great zeal for the Lord. Her passion was to see people saved, discipled, equipped & released to carry out His will. She attended & then pastored at New Life Community Church where her family still attends & serves focusing on prayer, discipleship and mentoring couples and women of all ages. For fun she enjoyed spending time hanging out with her husband, kids, grandkids, loving on people, Starbucks, sweet treats & some good light and crispy chips & salsa. She was clothed with strength and dignity, she laughed without fear of the future. When she spoke her words were wise, and she gave instructions with kindness.
