Ruben A. Del Rio

Ruben Aguilar Del Rio 6:00 am morning of Sunday October 3rd Ruben A. Del Rio Sr. loving father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Camarillo, CA at the age of 85 with his grandsons at his side. Ruben was born in Mexico December 15, 1935, to parents Francisco Del Rio and Luisa Aguilar. In 1957 Ruben moved to Ventura County with his mother and sisters Rosa Barajas Amparo Del Rio, Maria Del Rio and brother Benny Del Rio. He also met Peggy Soria and married in September 1958 had their children and made a home in Oxnard, CA. Ruben was a mechanic by trade and worked at Las Posas Country Club and then became golf course superintendent at Camarillo Springs G.C., Saticoy C.C., Mountain Gate C.C., among others he was honored for his golf courses and outstanding greens. Ruben a professional procussionist specialized in timbales and conga playing. In his early days he played for Carlos Campos and many bands in the Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. He was very proud to have joined his son Ruben Jr’s band Karysma and opened concerts for Little Joe y La Familia and The Texas Tornadoes and had blast players music. Ruben was very loved and admired by many and will be forever in our hearts. Survived by children Silvia (Jaime), Michael (Julie), Michelle Del Rio and sister Maria Del Rio. 8 grandchildren Esteban, Monique, Adam, Elizabeth, Trinity, Rosie, Mia, Daisy. 2 great grandchildren Eric and Alex, and many nieces and nephews. Camarillo, CA 93010 Funeral Friday October 22nd 10:00 AM at St Mary Magdalen Church 25 Las Posas Rd. Camarillo, CA 93010 Followed by the interment at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park 5400 Valentine Rd. Ventura, CA 93003
