Dorothy Walker

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Mother in Law, and friend to many. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Walker on September 18, 2016. Dorothy passed peacefully after suffering with Dementia for many years. Hospice was with her as well as family members. We thank Hospice for there love and support. Dorothy was always a hard worker not only as a mother, but held many jobs throughout her life. In Minnesota as a young girl helped work at the Arlington Hotel her Mom and Dad owned which is no longer there. She also worked at Walgreens in Chicago, Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica (where she won the Highest Suggestion Award), McFadden Insurance Co. in Santa Monica, was a Real Estate Agent in both Malibu and Palm Springs, and held her last job with the family business Walker Pools, Inc. She also a participated for many years in the Scandinavian Festival held each year at Cal Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks. Dorothy loved her horses and rode for many years. She also was the best cook around and when her granddaughter was skating at a local competition, Dorothy was always asked to cook for the judges. Dorothy leaves behind three wonderful sons, Steve Walker, Chuck Walker, and Michael Walker, Daughter in law, Bonnie Walker, Debbie Dubois Walker, and Judy Walker. Grandchildren, Chad Walker, Tisha Walker Green, Moana Dubois Walker, Scarlett Walker, and great grandchildren, Hannah Green, Nicole Green, Alex Walker, and Adam Walker. Brother, Edward Mentz and wife Darlene, and many other dear relatives and friend’s. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Faribault, Minnesota at Maple Lawn Cemetery along with her Mother, Father and Grandparents. A Special thank you to Perez Funeral Home, Boldt Mortuary, and Maple Lawn Cemetery for all you did to help us.
