William Joseph Woods, III passed away after a long illness at his home in Camarillo, California on April 27th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was a beloved friend to all who knew him and he graced all he met with his kind and gentle demeanor. Bill was born on January 26th, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, and grew up in Espanola, New Mexico. He graduated from Espanola High School, joined the Navy in 1965, and served two tours in Vietnam as a Marine Corpsmen. Upon return to civilian life, Bill worked as a salesman before studying respiratory therapy, graduating from San Bernardino Valley College. He worked at Redlands Community Hospital as Respiratory Therapy Supervisor for many years and was later promoted to Manager of the hospital's Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program. In 1989, Bill founded the Bangasser Wound Care Center at Redlands Hospital. Several years later he ventured out to create Centers of Advanced Wound Care at hospitals in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. Bill retired in 2010 and relocated to Ventura County. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kris; his three children with former wife, Theresa (decd); three stepchildren; and six grandchildren. Bill will be remembered for his insightful nature, his work ethic, his many talents, his love and care for his family, his fantastic and entertaining stories, and his wonderful laugh. He is dearly missed.
