Wesley C. Dumond Camarillo, CA Wesley C. Dumond, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 14, 2011. Wesley was born on November 24, 1928 in Toulon, Illinois to his parents Wesley and Clara Dumond. Wesley was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. At age seventeen he joined the United States Army and served three years in Japan from 1946 to 1948. Through two friends from the Army, Wesley learned of the first Billy Graham Crusade in Los Angeles, CA in 1949. Wesley attended the Crusade meetings, heard the gospel and became a Christian. He attended Biola University and earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Wesley married Elaine Lois Wright on June 28, 1958 in Southfield, Michigan. Together they served as missionaries for four years in Japan and they raised five children in Glendale, CA. Wesley loved to travel and experience new adventures. He took numerous road trips across the U.S. and traveled abroad. He loved being out doors and gardening; growing numerous tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, macadamia nuts and the sweetest peaches you have ever tasted. Wesley believed in healthy living and the many benefits of natural and organic foods, vitamins, dietary supplements and exercise. During his life, Wesley touched many people with his friendliness and humor. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and enjoyed volunteering at church (Awana) and the Salvation Army soup kitchen. Wesley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Dumond, his brother Dennis and his sister Janet , his son Daniel and his daughters Susan, Anne-Marie and Jennifer. He is also survived by four grandchildren. Both his parents, younger brother Charles and his daughter Katherine preceded him in death. A celebration of Wesley's life will be held at noon on Friday, March 18th at the Perez Family Chapel.
