(This will broadcast at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 23, 2010) Walli Helena Pierro Oxnard, California Walli Helena “Susie” Pierro, 87 years old, passed away peacefully on 10-13-2010 following a brief illness. Susie passed away at home with her husband by her side. She was born in Germany on 7-31-1923 to Walter and Betti Ziggel. Susie was married to Nicholas Pierro in 1952 in Germany. Susie was raised in Germany and met Nicholas after World War II who was serving in the United States Army at the time. One of her most prized possessions was a wedding ring Nicholas gave her from his mother which she cherished throughout her life. Susie enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her 4 grandchildren. She loved needlepoint, crocheting and knitting and made countless yarn blankets for everyone in the family to keep warm in the winter. She also enjoyed doing German crossword puzzles and reading novels and playing scrabble with anyone who was up for the challenge. Susie was an excellent cook and specialized in everyone’s favorite – German Cookies. She is survived by family members - husband Nicholas Pierro, the love of her life, who currently resides in Oxnard, Ca., her daughter Christine, grandchildren Andrea and Nicky who also reside in Oxnard, Ca., her son Andrew, grandchildren Tony and Alexis who reside in Corona, Ca. She also has a younger sister Helga who still resides in Germany. She is also survived by Son in-law Riley Wilson and Daughter in-law Jeannie Pierro. She will be dearly missed by her family and we all know she is watching over us now. Service's will be held at Perez Family Funeral Chapel Saturday October 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm
