Virginia Alconcher Almarinez
Camarillo, California
Virginia Alconcher Almarinez, 86, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015.
She was born March 12, 1929 in Baguio City, Philippines to Severino Alconcher and Maria Flores.
She was married to Rosauro Carino Almarinez on April 19, 1949 in Makati Manila, Philippines.
Born the fourth of six children, Virginia was born and raised in the Philippines to Severino Alconcher and Maria Flores. She was a much beloved, and mischievous child, who completed high school, and though she dreamt of becoming a school teacher, she went to vocational school where she learned the trade of cosmetology. While working as a cosmetologist in a beauty salon, that also had a dentist office on the second floor of the building, Virginia met her husband, Rosauro. As the story goes, “it was love at first sight” for Rosauro, and she slowly fell in love with the kind man that worked in the dentist office as a lab technician. After a long courtship, they married, later having four children in the Philippines, and a fifth child four years after they immigrated to the United States in November 1968.
Virginia continued in her profession of cosmetology when she moved, and continued to make everyone smile with her warm disposition. A devout Catholic, she valued God and family above all else, and loved music, always playing the piano for personal entertainment. Beauty, simplicity, and kindness could best explain the disposition of Virginia.
She is survived by her children – Cynthia A. Helm (Camarillo, CA), Danny A. Almarinez and wife, Angelita Almarinez (Hercules, CA), and Emeline A. Hastings and husband, Robert Hastings (Merkel, TX); grandchildren – Dean Urriza, Robert Urriza, Michael Almarinez, Eric Almarinez, Daniel Almarinez, Christopher Davis, Sr., Christina Davis, Niles Almarinez, Devon Almarinez, and Adrienne Almarinez; sister – Sister Susan Marie Alconcher (Iowa); brothers – Eduardo Alconcher (Seattle, WA) and Rudy Alconcher (Hanford, CA); and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Rosauro C Almarinez (husband), Emmanuel A. Almarinez (son), and Enrico A. Almarinez (son).
A Graveside Service will be celebrated at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road in Colma.
