Victoria Perng

Victoria is known for her radiant smile and joy she brought to those around her. She was a loving, empathic, and kind-hearted person to everyone she met.

She was born on the island of Kyushu, Japan in 1944 to her Japanese mother Hsu Mei-Yu, who was a nurse, and her Chinese father Hsu Shi-Ling, who was a physician. Her favorite childhood memories involved helping her parents in their home-based clinic with preparing medications and caring for others. Later, she was able to fulfill her dream to become a surgical nurse and midwife.

Victoria met her husband, Jiunn, after they were arranged to be married by her parents in 1966, which was soon after he graduated from medical school. They had two daughters prior to immigrating to the United States in the mid-70’s. After residency in New York in 1979, they decided to move to California, where they welcomed their third daughter.

Though being a good mother and supportive wife were Victoria’s main priorities, her favorite role was that as a grandparent. She cherished every opportunity she had to hug, play, and interact with her three grandsons. Additionally, for the past 25 years, she enjoyed helping Jiunn at his solo medical practice to educate patients about the importance of whole foods nutrition and better lifestyle choices, and to encourage patients to invest in their health.

Victoria will always be remembered for the grace and beauty in her heart. But most of all, she will be remembered for her unwavering love and boundless kindness toward everyone she encountered in her life. She was a beacon of light in this world. Her compassion, strength, and love will never be forgotten.

Victoria is survived by her husband Jiunn of 57 years, daughter Jessica Bentley, daughter Bonnie Ridge and her husband Chris, daughter Amy, and grandsons Dylan, Jacob, and Zack.
