Theresa Ann Castro

On Sunday, June 26, 2022, Theresa Ann, our beloved sister, aunt, and godmother, moved to her heavenly home after a brief illness. She was 65 years old. She loved her family and delighted in spending time with them. She was an especially devoted daughter and spent much of her time with her parents until their passing. Theresa loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God’s Word. She faithfully and joyfully served in many capacities in her church, such as wedding coordinator, choir director, soloist, children’s, women’s, and jail ministries. Theresa was born on September 28, 1956, in Oxnard, CA, to Ruben and Dolores Castro. She was a product of Moorpark schools and graduated Moorpark Memorial Union High School in 1974. She graduated from Moorpark College then attended UCSB. Theresa’s early career began by assisting in the family business, Castro’s Market. She worked for Head Start in daycare and for the State of California as a Psychiatric Technician. Her last position was as an Eligibility Officer with the County of Ventura and then she took an early retirement. Theresa was an artist at heart. She had a love for drawing, singing, making crafts, floral arrangements, and baking. She would provide decorations for all occasions and had the ability to bring beauty to every celebration. Her passion was giving to others. She would often make the children bags filled with stickers, markers, candy, and popcorn. She would come to Christmas gatherings with extra gifts in case there were unexpected guests. Theresa is preceded in death by her father, Ruben Castro, mother, Dolores Arenas Castro, and brother, Steven Joseph Castro (Pamela). She is survived by her siblings Patricia Ann Aguirre (Armando), Maria Irene Arambula (Salvador), William Joseph Castro (Rachel), Liza Vasquez-Castro (Henry). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Dr. Antonio Castro (Lisandra), Alejandro Castro (Dr. Vi Le), Ana-Alicia Castro-Santti (Pierre), Sonia Micaela Arce, Guillermo Arambula, Andres Arambula (Alison), Dominique Arambula, Yvette Villanueva, Ruben Castro (Trina), Steven Castro (Leticia), Michelle Castro, Veronica Tackett (Michael), and Trinity Ann Alexandria Vasquez-Castro. Great nieces and nephews, Dominic, Nicholas, Dannica, Mia, Eli, Ari, James, Christopher, Nicholas, William, Jayden, Ava, Anthony, Zachary, and Joseph. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:00am at the Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte, Camarillo. Graveside services to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 N. H Street, Oxnard.
