Teresa (Terri) Santora, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, age 77,
passed away on March 25, 2011, after a prolonged and difficult illness. She was
surrounded by her family. Teresa was born on May 12, 1933 in Devon, Pennsylvania.
She had one brother Bernie, and two sisters, Lucy and Angie. They were the children of
Dominick and Florence Scarcella. Teresa was preceded in death by her husband Larry,
who was the love of her life. They met in 1952 and were married in 1953. Teresa and
Larry settled in Port Huenene in 1955 to raise their family. Teresa was a homemaker and
full time mom.
Teresa is survived by her children, Donna Veracka and her husband Bob, Larry Santora
and his wife Paula, Debbie Frash and her husband Roger, and Steve Santora and his wife
Rhonda. Terri had six grandchildren, Brian, Kelley, Justin, Lauren, Tesara, and Steven,
and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lily, and Riley.
Our mom was always there to walk us to school and pick us up, with an amazing smile
on her face that you could never forget. Our mom’s greatest joy in life was taking care of
her family. You could always find her in the kitchen, making a special meal for family
and friends…from her homemade square pizzas to pork roast that melted in your mouth.
All who knew the Santoras always knew where to go when they were hungry.
Terri and Larry could always be found at Tournament Bowl on Friday nights, spending
time with family and friends. Terri’s hobbies were watching her boys play sports, taking
her girls shopping for the latest fads, and dancing and listening to music with her
husband. Our mom will always be remembered for her large heart, wittiness, and great
strength.
The Santora family would like to express their sincere thanks to caregivers, Tess
Augustine, Melanie Jean Estolano, and Rose Room Hospice of Ventura, for their care and
support during her illness. The family requests that guests attending her service wear a
touch of “pink” in honor of Teresa.
Arrangements are with Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo. A viewing will be held
there on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Teresa’s memorial service will be
held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 am at Perez Family Funeral Home. The chapel
is located at 1346 Del Norte Road, Camarillo. (805-983-3457). Burial and reception will
follow the service.
