Taylor Moore

Taylor Moore Ojai, CA We are sad to share news that Taylor Moore, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, has begun his next journey. Richard Taylor Kale Moore was born, Dec 24, 1985 in Ventura, CA. Even as a small boy while growing up in Ojai, Taylor gained a love of fishing and later hunting that would dominate his life in later years. If Taylor heard of a good fishing hole, he would race to get there with every lure - hooks and all - which he could stuff in his pocket and always with a twinkle in his eyes! He dreamed of catching a "double digit bass". Taylor excelled at chess and was ready for a match anywhere, any time. Taylor got the acting bug in 1998 and landed the part of “Jake” in the Disney movie, “Johnny Tsunami” (YouTube, Part 1). Traveling with his mom to Hawaii to be in the movie, Taylor began to think about how much he wanted to experience in life. From then on, Taylor became affectionately known as “Tayman, the Traveler “ – his joie de vie” (joy of living) was ever present wherever he went. This thirst for adventure took him to Aruba, Morocco, Cambodia, Laos, Sweden, Amsterdam, Ecuador, and Australia. He explored many countries in Europe and went to Thailand on three separate occasions. Taylor set out to write about his travels and completed a book in two years. Taylor made many friends along the way, who kept in touch with him over the years. He became a licensed massage therapist and worked in spas in order to continue his adventures. Whenever late October rolled around and Taylor was back in CA, you would find him free diving for lobster, from Malibu to Santa Barbara. He loved to spear fish for white sea bass and went with his dad to fish for tuna in San Diego. (If you went on a fishing boat with Taylor, i.e. “The Gentleman” out of Oxnard”, you might find an anchovy in your trousers or sandwich!) Taylor’s sense of humor and his wonderful lust for life and adventure will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bless you Taylor. Rest in peace.
