One of God's blessings entered this world October 1, 1961, born by a loving Mother and Father. Stevie joined his mother in heaven on September 2, 2011. He was born and raised in Port Hueneme, CA.
Throughout his life Stevie brought happiness to all he encountered. His love for children took him through a career in childcare while working many years at Squires Children Center and Elementary Schools within the Port Hueneme School District. His passion to love unconditionally allowed him to connect with many at risk children and guide numerous through their adult years. His love was extended as he raised and worked many breeds of animals. On any day you could catch him holding a lengthy conversation about birds, dogs, and even reptiles. When he wasn't caught running around town to tend to animals or visit his friends you could find him at home cooking up a tasty meal. No matter what our son, "Brother", "Nino," or uncle was doing he was out spreading love and making this world a better place. Today we look back at his 49 years of life recognizing he never had one mean bone in his body and it will be his smile that many miss most.
Stevie is survived by his 92 year old father, Salvador Mendoza, Sisters, Stella Rakestraw and Soccorro Torrence, Brothers, Salvador Mendoza, Jr. and John Mendoza, along with their spouses (Earl Rakestraw, John Ryboks, and Ann Mendoza) and his many nieces, nephews, and friends who he loved and cherished very much.
