Scott Alan Yvarra was born April 21,1958 and went to be with the Lord, February 19,2011, after losing his fight to lung cancer. Scott was born in Reno, Nevada to Donna Smith and Porfirio Yvarra. He came to Oxnard at the age of 3, where he resided for the rest of his being. He married the love of his life and best friend, Pamela (Blakeman) Yvarra, in Maui, Hawaii July 30th, 1992. Together they joined their children from previous relationships to create a wonderful family.
Scott graduated from Oxnard High School in 1976. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps for 2 years. Scott was employed with the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union for years. He then became an Union Electrician in 1985 , with IBEW Local 952 in Ventura .
Scott loved to be around people. “The more the merrier”. Scott loved to travel, especially places that involved the history of our country. History was a huge passion of his. Scott loved being a part of the “Malibu”boat family, where he rode his Sky Ski and surfed the boat wake at all of the campouts over the 12 years of boating. He enjoyed music and playing the drums. Tower of Power was his all time favorite group, with drummer David Garibaldi being his idol. Coaching high school wrestling was also a passion of Scotts. After his sons graduated from high school, Scott stayed and continued coaching. Over a period of 15 years, he assisted at Channel Islands High, Camarillo High, Oxnard High and Simi High.
Scott is survived by his wife, Pamela, son Richard of Washington, son Ryan and wife Kelli of Washington ( who are expecting their first son, Craig), son Jason Blakeman of Oxnard, Ca, and daughter Rebecca (Yvarra) and husband Jason Jensen of Bakersfield, Ca. Grandchildren Reese and Blake Jensen. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters Phillip, Anita, David, Susan and Brian. Also beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and several cousins. His mother-in-law, Beverly Blakeman, who was his caregiver during the week days for the past 6 months.
Scott is preceded in death by his father and mother, Grandparents, Uncle Butch, Aunt Audrey, Aunt Nedra and father-in-law Larry Blakeman.

Memorial service will be March 12th, 2011 at 11AM at Perez Family Funeral Home with reception to follow.
