Scott Harding
Ventura, CA
2/12/57 – 4/02/11
Scott died Saturday, April 2, following an injury received while surfing his home break in Ventura, CA. Scott was 54 years old. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother & uncle. He was a ‘bruddah’ to all who knew him & was loved by all of us.
Scott leaves behind the lady who safeguarded his heart for 34 years, Collette, along with his children: Leslie & Brent Line, Brian & Jennifer Harding, grandchildren: London Constance & Haiden Scott-Corey. His father: Lloyd, brothers: Bruce & Mike, sisters: Susie Novak, Karen Dorrance, Alisa Bailey, & all their spouses, along with other relatives too numerous to mention. Of course, we could not neglect his 3 faithful companions: Leila, Tigger & Nacho. His mother Constance preceded him in death.
Scott was a life-long Jehovah’s Witness and his hope was on Jehovah’s promise of restoring our earthly home into a paradise with the prospect of living forever upon it in harmony with God’s initial purpose. His belief in the promised resurrection was a central part of his faith. Scott now sleeps awaiting the fulfillment of Jehovah God’s promises.
He called Ventura his mainland home, but his heart will always be in Hawaii. He truly lived by “The Golden Rule” & The ‘Aloha Spirit.’ To love each other as we love ourselves meant showing mutual regard & affection and extending warmth in caring with no obligation in return. He felt that each person is important and strove to extend good feelings to others. His character expressed it by showing kindness with tenderness, humility with modesty & patience with perseverance.
Scott was a Project Manager for HMH Construction. His hobbies included: surfing, boating, painting, dirt bikes, woodworking, gardening & making surfboards. He enjoyed watching the sunset with people he loved, evenings around the fire pit, BBQ’s, listening to Hawaiian music, talking story & walks & riding around the beach with his grandchildren.
Funeral arrangement is being coordinated by Ojai Valley Funeral Services. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday April 9th, 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 3900 Petit St. Camarillo, CA.
