Proceeded into death by his father Rudolph Moraga Sr. Born January 24th, 1959 in Oxnard where he lived for 55 years.
Rudy excelled in many sports. He started at a young age playing basketball for St. Anthony Tigers. He played baseball at Statham little league and pop warner football with the #1 Rhinos. He attended school at St. Anthony's on to high School at Santa Clara where he was an avid basketball player and leader. He then moved on to Hueneme High school where he graduated in 1977. At a young age his favorite car was a 1973 Buick Regal and he began his low riding days as the vice president of Touch of Class. He cruised all over Ventura county (Cooper rd. Saviors rd. Oxnard), LA county (Whittier), and especially to Santa Barbara where he met the love of his life Karen.
Speedy as we all knew him had a passion for music, dancing, fishing, camping and barbeques. He loved feeding the people and being amongst friends, family and his compadres. In his presence he always made you feel like family. Rudy worked for Verizon (GTE) for 34 years in Oxnard, Santa Barbara, Malibu and Camarillo, before he retired in March 2014. He made many friends there were laughter and jokes were plentiful. At times he was the biggest practical joker. Rudy was a devoted catholic man who was dedicated to St. Anthony's Church. He was a Eucharistic minister and a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul where he helped feed the community. GOD was #1 in his life. He was a Grand Knight (1998) and 4th degree member for the Knights of Columbus council #750 where his fellow Knights were his family.
Rudy's other passion was fishing. He belonged to the Compadres in which they fished monthly on the "Aloha Spirt." Reeling in the big one to win that jackpot. His happy place which many of you knew was Sam's Saloon. There he would meet with many friends, watch sports, have some cold ones and yes turn up the jukebox. Rudy (Speedy) had many friends and this is what he would say to us all, "By the way have I told you that I love you today?"
