Ron, 87, passed away in his home on April 13, 2010 in Oxnard, California after a lengthy illness. Ronald Rudolph Cyr was born July 15, 1922 in St. Leonard, Canada to Joseph Vital and Anna Cyr. He was retired from the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for over 32 years; he served in both World War II and Korea. His hobbies included building scaled models (what he would call “putzin around”), and traveling – living his life as he would say. Ron loved to laugh, and he was famous for his “how to scare a bee” joke. He is survived by his daughters Janice Cyr of Yelm, Washington, Robin Cyr of Oxnard, CA; Rochele Hargrave of Uvalde, TX; Roann and son-in-law Calvin Sulak of Waxahachie, TX; Danielle Trombino of Fountain Valley, CA; his son Ronald R. Cyr and 2 sisters Bernie and Simone; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and a non-family lady friend Sharon Ertel. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Vital and Anna Cyr, a daughter Rhonda L. Cunningham, two sisters Olga and Athlea, and two son-in-laws Steve Trombino and Harvey Hargrave - May you all Rest in Peace. To our Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather we will always love you and you will be sadly missed. Our memories will live in our hearts forever.
