NEWBURY PARK - Ronald Bartley, age 91, a beloved Father and Grandfather passed away August 9, 2024.
He was born July 13, 1933 in Owensboro, KY and moved to California when he was a baby. Later he moved back to KY where he lived and worked on his grandparents farm and graduated high-school from St Francis Academy in 1951. Ron served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.
He got married in 1956 and moved back to California where he worked in the aerospace industry. He worked for Rocketdyne/Boeing for over 30 years. He was a major subcontractor and traveled many years to Honeywell in Florida for work where he made a lot of close friends. While working and raising a family he earned two Master's degrees. He lived in the Newbury Park, Camarillo area for 57 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished all his trips to Mammoth for opening day fishing with his son and grandson, three generations. He took his family on many camping trips to the California High Sierra’s. He loved playing senior softball, that is where he met a lifelong dear friend. One of his most proud moments was to see his grandson, David Bartley receive his law degree in April 2024 and to pass the bar exam. Family was most important to him. He was grateful for all of their love and care. He will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
Ron is survived by his daughter Vicky Bartley of Bakersfield, son Ron Bartley, Jr of Newbury Park, daughter in law Sue Bartley, daughter Sheryl Bartley of Newbury Park, grandson David Bartley and wife Catalina Bartley of Ventura, former wife Rose Bartley of Newbury Park and brother Thomas Bartley of San Diego.
