Roberto Ruiz Gonzalez

d. February 8, 2013

God has called Roberto Gonzalez to join him in the kingdom of heaven on Feb 8th 2013. He is survived by his 4 children and wife. Born on Nov 14, 1955 in Jiquilpan, Michoacan-Mexico to Guillermo and Maria Gonzalez, Roberto was raised alongside his 25 siblings. At the age of 18 he came to Oxnard, Ca with the dream of saving enough money to bring the love of his life with him to the US and raise a family with her. He did just that. Finally in 1976 after 3 years of hard hard work he went back to Mexico to marry his sweetheart, Catalina Mendoza. Roberto and Catalina had 4 children; Roberto, Sonia, Yadira, and Edgar. He always set an amazing example of hard work, ambition, and humility to his children. Working from 8am-10pm, Roberto never complained and that is something that his children will take with them and do whatever it takes to make him proud. Roberto prided himself in being the handyman of his whole family. Whenever someone needed something fixed the person to call was him & no matter how hard or how time consuming the task might've been Roberto NEVER said no. He always gave a helping hand to those who needed it. In 2006 Roberto, along with his wife, joined Amway Global. Because of the nature of the business he was able to meet thousands of new people who grew to admire his ambition and fall in love with his kind heart. He was able to travel and see places he never thought he would. He was able to flourish as a business man and acquire knowledge and confidence & he left a lasting impression on each and every person he came across. On Feb 5, while in a business meeting, Roberto began to feel sharp pains in his chest. He was immediately taken to the hospital where it was discovered that he had congenital aortic valve disease. Having this condition for many many years caused an aneurysm that had to surgically be addressed. Complications resulting from an accumulation of everything led him to have a stroke. He fought till the very end. We will always remember Roberto as a hard worker, ambitious, and humble man. May his hard working hands and soul finally rest & may how spirit always be with us.
