Robert “Bob” Leroy Kisner ,77, of Camarillo, California, passed into eternal life with God 7 October, 2012. He died at home surrounded by his family. He was a source of inspiration to those who knew him and during his plight with Alzheimer’s he never stopped putting others before himself. He was born on 9 April, 1935, in Wichita, KS, to Earl Kisner and Florence Walton Kisner. He was the second of six children, including Don, Fred, Dorothy Gaskill, Paul, and Rhonda Treviso. Bob and his siblings grew up at a children’s home after their mother passed away at an early age. Father Earl came to visit often, and they remained a tight family. When Bob graduated from high school, he joined the United States Marines and served in the Korean War. After the war, Bob worked at Disneyland while earning degrees in journalism and electrical engineering from UC Fullerton. Later, he attended Thunderbird School of Management and earned his master’s in international management. While living in Anaheim, Bob was set up on a blind date with Naomi Eubanks. Naomi says she knew within a month that he was the man she would marry. They were married five years later, and this year, they would have celebrated 44 years of marriage. Bob had a real love of languages and travel and actually visited all but two of the US states. He travelled to Mexico frequently to visit his dear friends the Montiels, and took road trips across the US to visit with family and friends. Bob worked in a variety of engineering management roles, both in the United States, as well as in Mexico. At the time of his retirement, he was the Vice President of Operations at Ventura Technologies in Camarillo. Bob was a true example of a servant of Christ. He had a heart for helping others and spent much of his time volunteering at church or when family or friends needed anything. He served on the Board at Calvary Church (now Hillside Assembly of God) for many years. He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters: Chelo Felice, Carmen Kisner, Camille Perez (John), and Calista Laws (Chad); from whom he had 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Dorothy Gaskill (Jim) of Gothenberg, Nebraska; Fred of Mokelumne Hill, CA; Paul (Alexa) of Vista, CA; and Rhonda Treviso of Wichita, KS. He is preceded in death by his oldest brother, Don (Mavis-living) and his sister-in-law, Barbara (Fred). Bob never met a stranger, and always found the good in everybody. He volunteered his time, energy and strength to make the world of those around him better.
