It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Reynaldo "Rey" Reyes, on September 10,2024, with his family by his side.
Rey was born on July 2, 1938, to Geneva Garcia and Edward "Lalo" Reyes. He was a proud Santa Paula native where he was born, raised, and lived all his life. He attended Santa Paula High School, where he met his wife of 65 years, Inez Armas. Rey and Inez married on April 4, 1959, then shortly after, started raising a family of their own.
Rey had many proud accomplishments such as being one of the best and fastest framer carpenters of his time, coaching and volunteering for youth sports in the community such as The Santa Paula Little League and The Santa Paula Youth Football, where he served as The Rams president in the 1970's for years, and building his own house that he called home for 47 years. But what Rey was most proud of, was his strong bloodline and big family, having 5 children, 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Rey will be most missed for his generosity, his knowledge, his storytelling, his love for sports, BBQ, music, dancing, and last but not least, his ability to make everyone laugh with his humor and jokes.
