Rebecca Perez Segovia

Rebecca Segovia, a longtime resident of Oxnard, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6th 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30,1927 in Los Angeles to Francisca Perez, raised by her Aunt Hermelinda Ledesma who she considered her mother from the age 7 due to her mother’s death. Rebecca was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Laughlin, playing bingo, western movies, and long talks with her grandkids. She also found great comfort in church, faith, and prayer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Segovia. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert and Maria Segovia; Steve and Georgette Segovia, and Michael and Melinda Segovia; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Raymond Zavala; grandchildren Sergio Segovia, Eric Segovia, David Paul Segovia, Jamison Segovia, Hannah Ramirez., Michael Segovia Jr., Diego Segovia, Ryan Segovia, Jordan Segovia, Sasha Segovia, Matthew Zavala, Genna Zavala and Adriana Zavala; and great-granddaughters, Athena Segovia, Jazzlene Ramirez, and Mia Ramirez. Our family is deeply appreciative of the love and support brought by her nieces Marylou Magana, Isabelle Soliz and her husband Jess while in her time of need. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Rosary will be at 7:30 Monday, Jan.11, at Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo, CA 93010. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday Jan. 12, at St. Anthony’s Church 2511 South C St. Oxnard. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
