Raymond Harold Prust passed away on December 28th, 2009, at the age of 84. He was born March 24,1925, to Frank and Mary Prust and grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He began caddying at a local golf course when he was very young and developed a love of the sport. As soon as he graduated from high school, he eagerly joined the Navy to serve in WWII. After he was discharged he began working for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company of St Paul, where he met his wife Dora Mae Nicole. While working for 3M they transferred to Freehold, New Jersey. In 1963 they were Transferred to Camarillo, CA. where they adopted their son Cary. After 40 years with 3M Ray retired and golf became his favorite activity. He worked at Camarillo Springs and River Ridge golf courses, where he also played a lot of golf.
Ray was dedicated member of Peace Lutheran Church for many years. He enjoyed getting together with his many friends, playing cards and as a spectator of other sports especially the Angels baseball team. He was a member of the American Legion Post 741 and Loyal Order of the Moose in Camarillo.
Ray was proceeded in death by his wife, Dora Mae, brothers Edward and Harold Prust, and sister Bernice Hall. He is survived by his son Cary Prust, and a sister Geraldine Mechelke of St Paul, best friend Carmene Meyer and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
Ray was a quiet gentle man and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church 71 Loma Dr. in Camarillo, at 11:00am Saturday, January 16th, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or your favorite charity
