Pedro Duarte Rivera

On November 29th 2013 the Lord called Pedro Rivera up to heaven. many new him as Pete, Peter, and most of all Picalo. He was born in Corona, Ca. but by the age of 5 Picalo planted himself in Moorpark, Ca. where he spent the remainder of his life. He was the 4th of 8 brothers and sisters: Alfonso, Louie , Angie , Lupe, Eloise, Salvador, and Vera. "Picalo Pete" is what they called him in the fields, where he retired as a field foreman. In 1949 he married Connie Moreno and fathered 2 beautiful daughters: Marylou Romero and Rachel Naungayan. He was known as "Tata" to his 6 grandchildren: David Rivera, Kiki Rivera, Eddie Rivera, Tommy Rivera, Sylvia Naungayan, and Gilbert Naungayan. He was a great grandfather to little David Romero, Hannah Romero, and Arianna Romero. Family and friends are invited on Thursday at Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo for a viewing at 5 pm and rosary at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be at 10 am at Holy Cross Church in Moorpark, followed by the burial at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore.
