Nellie Leal Santos

With broken hearts and loving memories, we are sorry to announce the passing of Nellie Leal Santos. Known as ‘Mom’ or Aunt Nellie by many who knew her. Mom had a heart of gold. Full of kindness, compassion and love. 

Nellie Leal Santos was born March 5, 1941 in Ventura, CA and departed this earth the morning of March 3, 2025 in Camarillo, CA. 

Mom was an avid bowler. She bowled on a traveling team and ventured as far as New York, New Orleans, Reno and Las Vegas for tournaments. She loved bowling and gathering with friends/family. Everyone loved her Mexican cuisine that she would take to the bowling alley, or to family events. 

Nellie had a love of sewing and crafting. As she cared for many children through generations of the family, she would sew blankets for reach of the children to cherish and enjoy. 

She leaves behind her husband, Tony (Papa) Santos, Sons, Robert Santos and Michael Santos, 2 sisters Carmen Leal and Maggie Clevette, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving daughter Mary who passed away in 2010. Mom immensely missed Mary and is now in Heaven rejoicing with her. 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 19, 2025, 10:00am at Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Rd., Camarillo, CA. 93010. Burial is scheduled at 12:30pm at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard, CA. A reception will follow
