Mitchell Dean Graves Oxnard, California Mitch Graves (48) went to be with our Lord in heaven on June 27, 2010 after fighting Melanoma cancer for a year and was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 12, 1962, in Los Angeles, CA to parents Roy and Shirley Graves. He married Kristine Williams on September 28, 2003 on a beautiful ranch in Somis, CA. He was raised in Ventura County, graduated from Ventura High and was self-employed in the construction field for 30 years. He enjoyed all outdoor sports but his favorite passion was snow skiing. Traveling to various places with his wife was always an adventure. His significant life accomplishments were accepting Jesus into his life and 16 years of sobriety. Mitch will be remembered for his love toward others, patience, giving heart, dry sense of humor, and being an outdoors man. His passion for woodwork was well known by all. He is survived by his loving wife Kristine Graves, Oxnard; stepsons, Ryan (Rosie) Williams, Dustin Williams, Jeremy Williams; grandchildren, Jordan, Chloe and Peyton Williams. Parents, Roy and Shirley Graves, Ojai; siblings Ron (Julie) Graves, Ojai; Cathy (Eric) Lunquist, Santa Paula; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by nephew Ryan Mitchell Glaser. A Celebration of Life will be held at New Life Community Church, 1960 N. C Street, Oxnard, on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Our family wishes to thank Buena Vista Hospice Care, Inc. for their excellent services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to “The American Cancer Society” in memory of Mitch Graves.
