Miguel Gonzalez

Miguel Gonzalez, Moorpark Miguel Gonzalez passed away peacefully on March 10, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born on July 10, 1929 in Mascota, Jalisco, Mexico. He arrived in Moorpark to the home to the home of his uncle and aunt Refugio, and Tommasa Lopez in August 1951. Where his uncle got him a job as a truck driver for CoastalGrowers in Oxnard. He returned to Mexico in 1954 to marry his childhood sweetheart Esperanza Davalos. His wife and son Ramon joined him in Moorpark in 1956. He brought a house for his family and had three more children, Cornelia, Michael, and Gabriella Gonzalez. He was the first of 10 siblings to arrive in California. He welcomed his brothers into his home when they came to Moorpark to start a new life in what they called "El Norte" or The North. He was a member of Labors Local $585 and worked for Cal-Russ construction and then later for Al's Concrete where he retired from. He was a member of Moorpark Moose Lodge. His pastimes included, going to early mass on Sundays, playing cards, watching his beloved Dodgers and having friends come over for carne asada and a "cold one:. The joy of his hospitality came over to his children and grandchildren. Their homes are always open to welcome family and friends. He is preceeded in death by his wife Esperanza, son Ramon, and daughter Cornelia "Corny" Barron. He is survived by his son Mike "Wires" Gonzalez and Gabriella "Gabby" Gonzalez. Daughter in law Belinda Gonzalez and Son-in-law Pedro Barron. Grandchildren, Ramon Jr, Angel, Daniel, and Christina Gonzalez. Pedro "Tito", Crystal and Clarissa Barron, Tiffanie Villa, Michael and David Gonzalez. Great grandchildren, all boys, Marcos and Ramon Miguel Suarez, Wyatt Gonzalez and Andrew James Villa. His hospitality and work ethic will never be forgotten and neither will he. Love and miss you Welo. A visitation for Miguel will be held on Friday, March 21st at 5pm with the Rosary beginning at 7pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo CA 93010. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00am at Holy Cross Church, 13955 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark CA 93021. Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road Simi Valley CA 93060
