It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael L. Casas, husband, father, grandfather and sibling. Michael was called to rest on November 8, 2024, surround by his wife, children, and family.
Michael was the sixth child of seven children born, to Joe and Annie Casas on June 6, 1962. A lifelong resident of Santa Paula. He grew-up on Sycamore Street surround by childhood friends who still keepclose contact. He attended Santa Paula High and graduated with the mighty, mighty Class of 1980.
Michael had a love for music as having been exposed to music from an early age with neighbors like Jose Mora who would play at his home for family gatherings. He loved Mexican music, contemporary music from the 70’s and 80’s like Carlos Santana, Malo, Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire. He grew to appreciate Mariachi Music and became a forever Johnny Cash and country music fan.
In 1981 Michael started dating Gloria Perez, who was the love of his life and after a long ten-year courtship, married and started a family. Together they raised their two children Elisa and Stephen with the same values given to them from their families. They enjoyed taking the kids camping, fishing, and going out to dinner on Friday nights to Round Table Pizza or breakfast on Sundays after church to Chile Hut.
In 1983 Michael started working for Cabrillo Sheet Metal and began a lifelong career with the Tri-Counties Sheet Metal Trade local 273 and retired in 2019 from local 104. Having made numerous friends during his time as a sheet metal worker. Often pointing out the many buildings through Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties on which he had worked on.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Annie Casas and survived by his wife, Gloria R Casas, daughter Elisa (Juan Ruiz), son Stephen Casas (Elizabeth Cervantes), his four grandchildren Victoria and Jacob Casas, Raquel and Shantel Ruiz, brothersand sisters, Daniel (Kinnie) Casas, Cecilia Casas, Tommy (Jean) Casas, David (Kelly) Casas, Philip (Chula) Casas, Theresa (David) Brock, many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
