Melva Allen

Melva Dow Allen, of Ojai, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her home in Ojai, California. Melva was born December 22, 1932 in Vernal, Utah to Donnell and Lena Dow. An exceptional homemaker, Melva will be remembered for her love of entertaining company and celebrating holidays as well as her independent nature. She treasured family memories and rarely missed an opportunity to gather for a family reunion. Mom, Sister, Aunt, Gran, or Friend --- whatever her role in our life was, we will miss her and keep her memory alive. Melva lived in Carpinteria from 1966 to 1994 and Tucson, AZ from 1995 to 2005. She is survived by her son, Robert Allen of Ventura, CA and daughter, Miriam Allen Keilar of Mission Viejo, CA and granddaughters Kelly Werly of El Dorado Hills, CA and Brianna Keilar of Alexandria, VA and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Allred of Vernal, UT and Bobby Pitt of Sandy, UT.
