Mary Quirk
Camarillo, Calif.
Feb. 23, 1931-March 13, 2013
Born to Erma and Bernard Schindler in Lancaster, Ohio where she was raised and later married her high school sweetheart, Charles Quirk, in 1950. They moved to the San Fernando Valley in 1957 and she later embarked on a 52 year career in education, enriching the lives of those around her. She taught at Our Lady of Lourdes School while obtaining her MA in Education, and then onto St. Genevieve H.S. After moving to Camarillo, she became assistant Principal at Hueneme H.S and later Principal at Moorpark H.S. Upon her retirement she then counseled students at St. Bonaventura until 2012. Mary’s firm conviction and vocation was to be a teacher to all, whether in the classroom or the kitchen, passing on her skills of candy making.
She is survived by her husband Charles of 62 years and two children Michael and Patricia. Her family also includes five grandchildren, Megan Quirk, Trevor Quirk, Fritz Knoll, Logan Quirk and Gregory Knoll. She was able to enjoy three great children, Landon, Findley and Colton Quirk.
We would also like to thank Alice Tower her care giver during her final months and Kim Balwin, her nurse who assisted her.
