Mary Margaret Harold

Mary Margaret Minahan Harold August 10, 1935 to January 16, 2017 Mary Margaret Minahan Harold, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Camarillo, CA on January 16. Mary was born in Nebraska and grew up in Compton, CA. She studied at St. Vincent's' College of Nursing. During college she developed a group of lifelong friends. After college, she went on a trip across the US picking up intermittent work as a nurse along the way. This love of travel extended to her family as Mary encouraged new experiences and valuing relationships over possessions. Mary married Michael Harold whom she was introduced to by her brother Tom. The couple raised their family of five children in Vista, CA. Mary was active at St Francis of Assisi Church and Cursillo Retreat Leadership. She worked as a school nurse, an RN at Palomar Hospital and Director of Staff Development at Tri-City Convalescent Center. Mary also volunteered for many years as the Camp Nurse for Pala Rey Youth Camp. Mary loved playing bridge and attending prayer groups with her friends. She kept close with her friends and relatives. She warmly encouraged people to come by and stay for a visit. People knew Mary would always welcome them and be ready to listen with a kind heart. Her grandchildren were excited about visiting Grandma Mary because she so openly loved each of them. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Michael Harold. Her legacy lives on through her daughter Marcy Harold; her daughter Michelle Harold and son-in-law Joe Woodward and their sons, Noah and Sam; her daughter Maureen Harold and son-in-law Brent Parker and their children, Blake, Kyle, Abigail and Allison; her son Mark Harold and daughter-in-law Jennifer Montgomery and their daughters, Casey, Sydney and Kelly; her daughter Melissa Harold and son-in-law Dusty Welch and their children Luke and Brooke. Also, Mary is remembered by her sister Polly Minahan Reagan and her brothers Joseph Minahan and Thomas Minahan. She is preceded by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth, siblings Betty Minahan Zimmer, Dorothy Minahan Hileman and Richard Minahan. The memorial service for Mary will be held on January 28 at 12:00 p.m. at Padre Serra Catholic Church in Camarillo, California.
