Martha Zaragoza Almanza, our beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away
peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father,
surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 13,
2022.
Martha was born in Oxnard on May 15, 1944, to John
Soto Zaragoza & Margaret Carbajal. In August 1971,
after years of shared love, she married her soulmate Moises Almanza, and together they were
blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter, 3 grandchildren and
2 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Martha enjoyed spending time with family, dancing,
sharing stories, and telling jokes. She loved gardening
and collected butterflies in which she saw God's grandeur. She collected
keychains and coffee mugs from various places she
traveled to, or her family had traveled to. She also enjoyed
shopping at Thrift Stores and finding hidden treasures
that she would genuinely appreciate. She loved furry animals, especially her doggy, Yuki. She enjoyed relaxing by solving puzzles and coloring books.
Martha was a loving devoted Wife, Mother,
Grandmother & Great Grandmother with a gentle,
humble & caring spirit. She left behind so many beautiful
memories that will be treasured forever. Her
unsurpassed strength and positive attitude were a
testament to her faith in God.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, John and
Margaret Zaragoza, sisters Cecelia Morales, Virginia
Zaragoza, and brother Edward Zaragoza.
She is survived and deeply missed by her loving &
devoted husband Moises, Sons Moses Marquez
(Theresa), Mark Almanza (Marcin), Andy Almanza
(Jacqueline) and daughter Vanessa Van Lieu (Ryan),
beloved Grandchildren Moses Marquez Jr, Christopher
Marquez, and James Van Lieu. Great grandchildren Christopher Marquez Jr.,
JD Marquez. She is also survived by
Brothers John C. Zaragoza (MaryEllen), David
(Rachel), Alex (Grace), Gilbert (Sandi), Danny (Linda),
Arthur (Elena), and Sisters Mary, Sally, Alice, and Angelina
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha will be remembered for her beautiful and loving
soul, greatly missed by all her family & friends and will
always hold a special place in our hearts. She has a higher
purpose now, and we will always feel her beautiful spirit
in all the memories she has left imprinted in our hearts.
