Marie Garcia (1958-2015) - Moorpark
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Marie joined our Heavenly Father on March 11, 2015. The evening she passed the sunset was glowing brilliantly with pink, red, orange and purple hues. One of “Tia” Marie’s favorite sayings to all the children whom she loved was, “Go and shine like the brightest star!” Marie was one who emulated brightness in all she did. Her heart was bigger than her smile, which was constant and radiant. Marie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 13, 1958 to Hipolito and Mary Garcia. The family moved to Moorpark in 1966, allowing Marie to be a 48-year resident of Moorpark. For 17 years, Marie worked for the LADCO Company in Thousand Oaks as a Customer Service Supervisor.
Marie was preceded into heaven by her mother Mary Garcia (2007) and her brother, Arnold Garcia (1969). She is survived by her father “Deddy” (Hipolito), brother Paul (Norma), sister Minnie Gonzalez (Joe), brother Joe, brother Jorge (Linda), sister Sandra “Sendi” Cabriales (Gary), brother Robert (Irma), brother Jay, brother Dan, brother Albert (Juanita), and brother Ron (Darlene). Her brothers, sisters, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and co-workers were her entire life. The unconditional love Marie showered on her family and friends is an example for all of us to emulate. With Marie, we all felt like we were her “treasured” family member or friend. No matter the circumstance and through her ups and downs, a beautiful smile and contagious laughter were her trademarks. She could not go anywhere without encountering several people who knew her, and she ALWAYS made time to stop and chat with you. Marie will be missed tremendously, but Heaven has gained a new angel.
A visitation for Marie will be held on Wednesday, March 18th from 5-9pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo. The Rosary will begin at 7:00pm.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, March 19th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at TLC Hospice Home in Moorpark for the tender, compassionate care they provided to our beloved Marie.
