Maria Garcia

Maria "Cuca" Perez Garcia, age 90, of Oxnard California passed away peacefully in Ventura California on the evening of February 28, 2023, surrounded by her family. Cuca was born on June 3, 1932, in Acambaro, Guanajuato to Enrique Perez and Felipa Garcia.

Cuca moved to the US at the age of 19 after a few years in Texas she relocated to Oxnard, California which she was fortunate to call home for 63 years. She worked as an agricultural laborer for many years, she retired in 1983 to help raise and care for her grandchildren. She had a love for animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking, music and old movies.

She was a beloved member of the El Rio neighborhood. She was feisty, stubborn, and opinionated and did not hesitate to speak her mind. She was also a loving, caring, selfless individual that would not hesitate to help anyone in need. She was well-known in the neighborhood for the fruits and vegetables she cultivated and shared with the community.

She is survived by her lifelong partner Epifanio Victoria; their only son Ramiro "RV" Victoria; wife Maria Victoria. Her three grandchildren Elizabeth Ochoa; husband Jose Ochoa, Ramiro Victoria; wife Keily Victoria, Louis Victoria; fiancé Jocelyn Sabido, her five great-grandchildren; Sophia Victoria, Joseph Ochoa, Victoria Ochoa, Isabella Victoria, and Ramiro Victoria III and nephew Javier Perez.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Enrique Perez and Felipa Garcia and sisters Engracia, Caritina, and Santos Perez.

Funeral services for Cuca will take place from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, March 13, 2023, at Perez Family Funeral Home 1347 Del Norte Rd., Camarillo, CA 93010; with a rosary at 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at 10 am at Santa Clara Chapel, 1333 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
