Margy Ray DuBois, 83, of Santa Paula, California passed away peacefully at home with family and friends nearby late Friday afternoon on September 21, 2009.
She was born September 8, 1925 to the late Onie J. and Barbara B. Phillips, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Margy graduated from Freemont High School in Los Angeles. She then worked for Grayson Heating during WWII. She married Manuel Pisonero, moved to Big Bear City, and worked as a bookkeeper for Bank of America. In 1964 she moved to Ventura and worked for Bank of America in Ojai, and later in life worked at Ventura County Mental Health.
In 1967 she married James Du Bois and resided in Foster Park for about 30 years. She loved to have a good time with family and friends and loved to read and do crossword puzzles. One of her other hobbies was the world of CB radios, and they called her "Jiminy Cricket." In her later years she enjoyed time spent with her wonderful neighbors, playing games and swapping stories.
Margy is survived by her sister, Treba Caron of Bakersfield. Also surviving are Margy's three children: Tobi Ramonette of Santa Paula, Babette Barnes and son in-law Bob Barnes of Ventura, and Richard Pisonero of Colorado. Also surviving are four step- children: Larry Du Bois, Alice Du Bois, and Cindy Segundo and son in-law Alex Segundo, all of Ventura, and Collette Bratton of Porterville, CA. Margy loved and thoroughly enjoyed visits from her 18 grandchildren, Michelle Stevens, Mike Ramonette and wife Lesley, Waylan and Tonya Bower, Charles Barnes, Rick Pisonero, Jr., Samantha Anderson, Nico Rubright, Kimmy Pisonero, Alexander, Scott Dubois, Francine and James Ivans, Joey Segundo, Jeremiah Munoz, Nichole Howly and husband Josh, Josh Du Bois, and Jammie Bratton. Also surviving are her 13 great grandchildren: Mallory Knowlton, Jessica Ramonette, Bonnie, Rachel and Madi Clair Stevens, Christopher and Cameron Du Bois, Kristina and Haley Woods, JD and Colista Ivans, Kahlie and Dominic Munoz, as well as nieces and nephews: Tony, Mitch, Cindy, David, Christopher, Chad, Holly, Casey, Chase, Randal and Kala.
