Margaret Hall of Ojai California died in peace with family on December 5, 2014. She was born July 3, 1919, in St. Joseph, Minnesota. Her parents were Ben and Katherine Ablen and she was married to William J. Hall in Minneapolis MN on July 4 , 1941.
“Peg” Hall graduated from nursing school prior to her marriage to William Hall. They were married for seventy years, during which time they raised five children. She was the glue that held the family together through the many joys, celebrations and challenges of a large family.
She valued individuality and creativity, which she encouraged in her five children, which is an important part of the foundation of their lives today. In her own life she was honored with many awards for her artistic expression in the world of quilting, both locally and nationally. She was active in several quilting clubs and exhibited her work at the Ventura County Fair, Ojai Quilt show, and in several other states
During their retired life together, with her now deceased husband, Bill, they enjoyed their second home in Baja California. Being near the desert and the Sea of Cortez was their delight and she especially enjoyed the sense of community and the many friends that lived nearby.
She was always a gracious entertainer, a fabulous cook and maintained a beautiful home. Although home was central to her life she loved to travel worldwide.
Margaret Hall is survived by her five children; Ellen Hall from Ojai, CA and her son Michael Rubalcava and his wife Carrie and daughter Serena Hall...Timothy Hall from Ojai, CA and his daughters Tammy Shevlin and husband Kevin, Melissa Campos and her husband Alex, and Gigie Hall... Thomas Hall from Camas, WA, and his wife Karen and their sons Milan Cole and his wife Jennifer and Kyle and daughter Emily... William Hall from Agoura, CA and his wife Patty and their two daughters Lauren and Kelsey...Patrick Hall from Santa Barbara, CA and his wife Diane and their children Kaitlin, Hailey and Patrick Jr. Margaret Hall is also survived by her five great grandchildren; Nicholas Rubalcava, Quinten Rubalcava, Maximilian Campos, Finnegan Shevlin, and Kaia Grace Cole. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband William.
