Margaret R. Figueroa of Moorpark went to be home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday October 28, 2008 after a tragic accident. She was surrounded by many family and friends in her final hours.
Margaret was born June 10, 1943 to Paul and Adelaide Paramo in Carson, Calif. She had two brothers and two sisters: Paul, Virginia, Robert, and Gloria. It was in Carson where she grew up with and met her childhood sweetheart, Angel S. Figueroa. They were married April 11, 1964 in Torrance, Calif. Shortly after, they moved to Thousand Oaks, Calif where they started a business, Figueroa Grading, and their family. Together they have five children: Daniel (wife Lisa), Diane, Teresa Gutierrez (husband Hector), Manuel (girlfriend Jessica), and Rosanne Voland (husband Jason). They have 16 grandchildren: Joe, Daniel, Angel, Philip, Janiece, Danielle, Gregory, Justina, Naomi, Victoria, Damian, Michael, Makayla, Hector, Ezequiel, and Leanna; and 2 great-grandchildren: Emma and Baby Joey. She also leaves behind step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
Margaret and Angel moved to Moorpark in 1976. Margaret became a parish secretary at Holy Cross Church in 1982 where she served faithfully in different areas, including Eucharistic ministry. Margaret touched many lives and helped many people in her time at Holy Cross. Her family has been blessed with many stories of her love and friendship from her friends and coworkers.
Margaret was very loved and will be missed dearly. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and coworker we could have ever asked for. She set an example for all of us with her words and actions. She was loving, kind, faithful, quiet, gentle, compassionate, caring, generous, and unselfish. She was a devoted wife to her husband and took excellent care of him. She was always thinking and taking care of others. She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. She will be remembered always and her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved the most. She has taught us well.
Our family would like to extend a huge thank you to all the staff at Los Robles Medical Center who helped take care of our mom. All of your hard work and efforts are greatly appreciated. An extra special thanks to the ICU nursing staff for your compassion and care, especially: Joy, Vanessa, Dawn, Connie, and Nancy.
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21
