The family of Manuel Garcia
is sad to announce the sudden
but peaceful passing of our beloved
husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend to many
on Jan. 2, 2011.
Manuel was born on April
12, 1919 in Chillicothe, Ill. He
was raised in Colton, Calif. He
moved to Oxnard in 1962 and
was a resident for 49 years. He
served proudly 1942-1945 during
WWII.
Manuel worked for the department
of defense for 35 years,
retiring in 1985.
His retirement years were
spent enjoying family gatherings,
camping, barbecues, taking
trips with senior center groups
from Ventura- Oxnard to Laughlin,
Nev., and other places
throughout the U.S. Manuel also
enjoyed being the family handyman.
There wasn’t anything he
couldn’t fix. He was always there
to help and lend a hand. He was
a quiet gentleman whose actions
spoke louder than his words. He
will be dearly missed by his
family, friends and his beloved
doggies, Roxie and Buddy.
He leaves behind his wife of
40 years, Marina; his children,

grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren;

and two brothers, Andres
and Raul.
