Macario Magaña
Oxnard, CA
Macario Magaña, 90yrs old, passed away Thursday December 12, 2013.
Macario was born on January 4, 1923 in Puruandiro, Michoacan, MX to Jesus and Bernardina Magaña. He married Esther Ahumada in December of 1946 in Puruandiro Michoacan.
He was born and raised in Puruandiro and lived there until he was 23. At that time he migrated to the US and worked as a farm worker in Novato, CA. For years to come he traveled between California and Mexico where his family was still residing. In the early 70's he moved with his family to Somis, CA and that is where he lived until he retired. Macario was a quiet man but all he had to do was give his kids (or grandkids) 'the look' and you knew he meant business. He was a loving family man with a quiet demeanor but at the same time a strong warrior that inspired his whole family to be better people. He fought and held on until the last minute of his life and those characteristics of his are the ones that we will forever remember him by. we are all blessed to know that we have our very own Angel looking over us until we can be reunited once again.
He is survived by his wife; Esther Magaña. His children; Benjamin, Rosamaria, Hilda, Dolores, Javier, Esther, Macario and Agustin. As well as thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-one great grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his daughter Martha Angelica.
“No se angustien. Confíen en Dios, y confíen también en mí. En el hogar de mi Padre hay muchas viviendas; si no fuera así, ya se lo habría dicho a ustedes. Voy a prepararles un lugar. Y si me voy y se lo preparo, vendré para llevármelos conmigo. Así ustedes estarán donde yo esté. Ustedes ya conocen el camino para ir adonde yo voy.” –Juan 14:1-4
A visitation for Macario will be held from 5-9pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2013 located at the Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road in Camarillo.
