Lucy Nunez

Lucy Sosa Nunez Moorpark, CA Lucy Nunez, 78, passed away Sept 5th 2014 after a long illness. She was born Sept. 13th, 1935 in El Paso, TX to Doloteo and Rafaela Sosa. She married Ramiro Gonzalez Nunez, March 4th 1953 in Ventura, CA. Lucy was one of sixteen children, born in Texas and raised in Oxnard, CA where she later met the love of her life Ramiro. In 1954, she and her husband moved to a chicken ranch in Moorpark and she remained living in Moorpark up until her passing. She was very active in the Moorpark Senior Center. She loved to play bingo at the center with her friends and granddaughters. She was excellent at crochet and would always make scarves for her nurses and baby clothes and blankets for friends and family members. Lucy loved to cook. She was known to cook her families favorite recipes, even if someone was craving arroz con leche at 9 o'clock at night. Lucy was survived by her loving husband, Ramiro Nunez. Their children Jimmy Nunez, Neomi Nunez (spouse), Peter Nunez, Joe Nunez, Albert Nunez, Barbara Nunez (spouse). Grandchildren, Angela Jerez-Rassett, Mark Rassett (spouse), Ramiro Nunez, Craig Nunez, Victor Nunez, and Crystal Nunez of Moorpark CA. Preceded in death by her father Doloteo, Mother Rafaela and daughter in law Maria Nunez. A viewing will be held at Perez Family Mortuary in Moorpark, Friday Sept 12th from 2pm-6pm. A rosary to follow at 7pm at Holy Cross Church in Moorpark. Funeral services will be Saturday Sept 13th at 10 am at Holy Cross Church. The family wishes to thank all of the hospital staff at Los Robles Hospital and the East Campus for all of their support, and the Perez Family Mortuary for their courtesy and professionalism.
