Lorene Marie Acord

Lorene Marie Acord, 88 years old of Oak View, California, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 very peacefully with her daughter Janice, son-in-law Stephen and Grandchildren by her side to begin eternity with her heavenly father. Lorene was born in Ada Oklahoma to Ed and Mammie Steele. At the age of fifteen she met the love of her life Johnny Mac Acord. Lorene and Johnny's families both moved to California when they were teens. They later married and built a beautiful home in Oak View, California where they resided for sixty three years. Lorene is survived by two daughters: Britney J. Millan of Loveland Colorado, and Janice M. Jones of Oak View, California. Grandchildren: Leanna Reid of Loveland Colorado, Brian Teasdale of Oak View, California, Shona Luree Marrs of Ojai, California and Brett Jones of Clovis, California. Lorene has ten beautiful Great Grand Children: Asia Sky Van Aken, Niko Teasdale, Ambree Shea Lee, McKenna Marrs, Dana Reid, Bella Blu Van Aken, Delaney Ray Marrs, Jacob Reid, Dakota Renee' Teasdale, and Graceson Mikka Marrs. Sisters: Lela Sheppard, Kathy Wyland and many Nieces & Nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Johnny Mac Acord. As Lorene and Johnny were life mates on earth they are once again reunited to begin their new journey in heaven together forever. Lorene's favorite things were: Gardening, baking sewing, spending time with her family and bringing Johnny Mac a large glass of sweet tea & a big piece of coconut cream pie. They enjoyed their life traveling and meeting new people, held hands and were sweethearts to the very end. A special thanks to Lorene's dear sister Kathy & Niece Joyce for the countless hours sharing all the wonderful memories, caring, laughing and loving. Thank you to all the nurses and staff Assisted Hospice. Lorene would always tell each nurse she loved them and thanked them all for all their care and kindness shown to her. Lorene was Foster Great Grandmother (Gigi) to over a dozen children. She would always make time for them, give lots of hugs, and prayed for their families. And to St Judes Children's Research Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00am located at the Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo CA 93010. Graveside Service will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
