Lois Lucille Bachman (Wagner) 1923-2013
Our Grandma Lois peacefully left this Earth on Friday, January 18, 2013 after 89 ½ wonderful years. She was born in Russell, Kansas and moved to California at age 18 after falling in love and marrying Guy Aubrey. She went to school with former presidential candidate Bob Dole and even recalls a “date” they went on. Lois made a home in Long Beach, CA where she raised her three children, Carla, Doug and Terry. With an outgoing and cheerful demeanor, she enjoyed being active in her community and held the positions of Secretary and eventually President of Lady Elks in the 1960’s. Nothing made Lois happier than entertaining and she was a talented cook. Among her other many talents, she was a mean poker player and enjoyed making trips out to Las Vegas. Lois also had a keen fashion sense, always putting together glamorous outfits and even designing her own clothing. With her looks and bubbly personality, it’s no surprise that she was married four times.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Amalia and Henry Wagner, her sister Bernice, son Doug, daughter Carla, as well as all four of her husbands, Guy, Tommy, Bill and Carl.
She is survived by numerous friends and family including daughter Terry, granddaughters Michelle (Eric), Llysa (Ian), Sandi, Megan (Marcus), Piper and grandson Ryan (Jessica). Also 10 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Tyler, Gracie, Dalton, Michelle, Marissa, Gabrielle, Kailyne, Braydon and even two great-great grandchildren, Luke and Piper. She is also survived by first cousins Ellen, Laura and Kenneth.
We will miss you forever.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo followed by a Fiesta reception at her home in Leisure Village.
