Larry Abernathy (48) went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2010 after fighting colon cancer for over a year.
He was born on July 16, 1961, in Los Angeles, California to parents Larry and June Abernathy. He was raised in Glendale, California with three sisters and one brother. He graduated from Glendale High School, going onto earn a degree in “Live Sound and Remote Recording” from Sound Masters Audio/Video Institute in 1986. He was self-employed as an independent contractor for various audio and video services. Larry enjoyed playing tennis and being a member of the Cowboy Fast Draw Association, competing in National tournaments, but his real passion was film making and screenwriting. Most importantly, Larry re-dedicated his life to Christ in April, 2004.
Larry will be remembered for his love towards his family, his wonderful sense of humor, and his
adventurous spirit of always wanting to try something new.
He is survived by his wife, Charo, and three children, Valerie, Melanie and Jason.
Funeral services will be held at the Perez Family Funeral home on July 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
