Kieran Leahy Doud

Kieran (Kerry) Leahy Doud passed away peacefully on May 22, 2017 at the age of 70. Kerry was born on August 7, 1946 in Oxnard, CA to parents Joseph Eugene and Mary Doud. He was fourth generation of the McGrath family and grew up in Oxnard with his siblings Dolores, Patty, Tisha and Joe. Kerry attended Santa Clara elementary school and high school in Oxnard, class of 1964. He also attended Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo before joining the U.S. Army and serving bravely in the Vietnam War. Kerry returned to Ventura County where he carried on a family tradition of working in agriculture and raised his two daughters. He loved his horses and rode them as a member of Rancheros Visitadores and Ventura County Sheriff's Posse. Kerry will be remembered for his fierce loyalty, his ?gift of gab?, and his love of laughter.
Kerry is survived by his sisters Dolores Borchard, Patty Weber, and Tisha Ferrari; his brother Joe Doud; his daughter Katie Doud and her wife Erin Johnson; his daughter Annie Stephens and her husband Derek Stephens; his granddaughter Abigail Stephens; and his grandson Jack Stephens.
A vigil will be held for Kieran on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11am located at the Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road in Camarillo. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10am located at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 463 W Pleasant Valley Road in Oxnard. Friends and Family are invited to celebrate the life of Kieran at 12 noon (following the Mass) at the Las Posas Country Club, 955 Fairway Drive in Camarillo.
