Kenneth “Ken” Kay Griffin
Ken Griffin, 77, passed away on October 7, 2015 in Santa Paula, CA. He was preceded by his father, Kenneth Griffin, step-mother, Roberta Griffin, birth-mother Jessie Kay, and siblings Keith and Julie Griffin. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Teresa “Terry” Griffin, his daughters, Susan Kear and Bridget Tovias, and grandchildren Westley Kear, Sydney Tovias, and Clayton Tovias.
Ken joined the military at 17 and served in various branches of the armed services, most notably as an officer’s chef. To his daughters’ delight, he never tired of cooking up large plates of S.O.S. for family breakfasts. At age 50 he attained a black belt in Taekwondo. He was an active member of the Camarillo American Legion Post 741 until his stroke in 1996. Ken was a wonderful father who passed on his passion for martial arts, along with a love of nature, music, reading, and a light-hearted, irreverent sense of humor.
