Juanita Rocha Chavez was born Jan. 27th, 1948 in Ventura California and returned to our Lord on April 27th 2011. Juanita was born to Louie and Lala Rocha of El Rio. She graduated from Camarillo High School in 1966.
Juanita and her husband Abel Chavez were married for 37. They first met on a blind date and as they fell in love they became inseparable. Abel adored and cherished his lovely wife Juanita throughout their lifetime together and faithfully remained by her side. They are blessed with 2 sons, Anthony (Tony) and Steven Chavez, daughter in law Sofia and 3 wonderful grandsons.
Reminiscing about our beloved mother and wife we remember how her spirit filled our lives and everyone else’s with love, joy and her delicious cooking. Planning and cooking for the holidays was always mom’s favorite, it filled her with excitement. She greeted family and friends with a warm inviting smile that everyone fondly remembers. She had a truly big heart that was open to everyone and her generous nature made everyone feel welcome in our house. Juanita put the needs and happiness of others first and went out of her way to help others.
One of the many moments we cherish with mom was when she drove us everywhere in our green van, “The Hulk,” early morning soccer games, school and trips down to Mexico. All our friends and family remember mom driving everyone around in the green van. When mom drove to Grandma Lala’s it seemed to take an hour. It wasn’t until Tony drove to grandmas in 30 minutes that we learned how slow of a driver mom really was. At our soccer games mom quietly admired us from the stands while dad yelled and cheered us on. But during half time mom gave us words of encouragement and praise. And when we were losing she reminded us to enjoy the game and have fun.
There were many things mom enjoyed in life, from reading old books while we were fishing, to shopping in the Segundas with Grandma Lala. Mom spoiled us and bought us whatever we wanted. Her grandson Anthony was always allowed to crawl into bed with his dear grandma and grandpa in the mornings.
