John L. Kingsley, 73, passed away surrounded by his family on October 31st at home in Camarillo, California. John is survived by his wife Julie, daughters Karrie (Aimee) and Kattie (Jeff), sister Kathy (Stan), and his dog Wookie. John was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. He was a life-long philanthropist who served in the Jaycees, Kiwanis, Community Chest, Trout in a Classroom, and the Boys and Girls Club. John worked for 45 years in Insurance and Financial Planning. He was an avid fly fisherman, die-hard USC football fan, award-winning photographer, talented painter, skilled woodworker, and world traveler. John was an adoring husband, wonderful father, loyal friend, and funny goofball. He was known for his sincerity, compassion, and ability to make others laugh with tall tales of his life adventures. Services will be held on Saturday, November 19th at 10am, at Padre Serra Church in Camarillo. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America in John’s name.
