John Mac Acord Obituary John (Johnny Mac) Acord, 86 years old of Oak View California, peacefully left this life and began eternity with his Heavenly Father with family by his side Thursday, August 1,2013. Johnny was born in Hevner, Oklahoma on April 1, 1927 to Walter and Peggy Acord. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Lorene Acord, daughter Britney Millan & husband Raymond Millan of Loveland Colorado; daughter Janice Jones & husband Stephen Jones of Oak View, California. Grand children; Leanna Reid & children Dana Reid, Jacob Reid, & their father Brady Reid of Loveland Colorado, Ryan Millan & children Brayden Millan, Bodie Millan of Santa Clarita, California, Abel Carranza & family of Ojai, California, Brian Teasdale of Oak View, California & children Nikolas (Niko) Jon Teasdale of Oak View, California, Ambree Shea Lee of Ojai, California, and Dakota Renee Teasdale of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Shona Luree’ Marrs & husband Jeff Marrs & children Asia Sky Van Aken of Oak View, California, Mckenna Marrs of Casitas Springs, California, Bella Blu Van Aken of Ojai California & Delaney Marrs of Casitas California. Brother Jerry Acord & wife Shirley (Frostie) Acord of Techachapi, California Children Mark Acord, Roger Acord & Lisa Acord. Johnny was enlisted in the American Merchant Marines, during armed conflict, from December 7, 1941 through June 25 of 1945. After an Honorable Discharge he married the love of his life Lorene Steele. He attended college to become a plumbing contractor. Johnny and life time friend AC Barrnett owned & operated Gordon Braker Plumbing business in Ojai, California for over 25 years. After an early retirement, Johnny spent time with family and friends enjoying deep sea fishing, water skiing, dune buggy, jeeping as he called It (creek crawling), gardening, and cooking. Johnny retained a strong work ethic and continued working in his wood shop, helping friends and family with a variety of construction projects well into his 80’s. He was a mentor to many & never met a stranger. We would like to thank all would cared for our sweet father by Roze Room Hospice. Rose, Valerie, Allysha, Virginia (Sudsey) Eric, Barbie, Sue, Brandi, and many others. Your gentle comforting care will always be remembered. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 6:00pm – 9:00 pm and Funeral arrangements will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 11:00 am. Both services will be at the Perez Family Funeral Home located at 1347 Del Norte Rd. Camarillo. UPDATED: A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:00am located at the Santa Paula Cemetery.
