Joe age 78 passed away July 9, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. He was Born March 19, 1939 to Sally and Antonio Miranda. He was educated in the Moorpark Public Schools. He was a very active member of the community. In 1970 he was given the PTA’s Honorary service award. He organized Basketball teams for the communities recreation program and coached little league baseball. He loved working with young people and was the Recreation Chairman for the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce. He was sponsored by Club Amistad Latina to run for Mayor of Moorpark in 1969. He is mentioned in The Moorpark Story and a Diamond for Moorpark written by Norma Gunther. He worked for General Motors in Van Nuys, Ca for 30 Years retiring at the age of 50. He loved to take the family camping and traveling to see all the missions in California and a lot of the National Parks when the kids where grown he started traveling all over the world. He had a very giving heart and would always be there if you needed him. He was also the life of the Party and would make everyone laugh. He loved life and he loved God. He was very loved and will be missed by so many. Joe is survived by his girlfriend of 12 years Patricia Sanchez of Camarillo, his Daughter Yvonne (Manny) Rodriguez and Grandson Paul from Tucson, Arizona. Son, Paul Miranda (Carin Shotliff). Grandsons: Kai, Makana (mother Jeni). Andrew Miranda and Halee and Ben Sommers. Son, Joseph (Heather) Miranda. Grandsons Teigue Miranda and Chance Reynolds and Granddaughter Chloe Ordonez, Great-Grandson Jett Miranda. Brothers: Louis (Crusita),Tony (Linda), Manuel (Pat), Richard (Linda), Sisters: Margaret, Rosie (Luis) Jennie (James). He is Preceded in Death By Father Antonio Miranda and Mother Sally Gomez, and former wife Dolores Gayagas. A Memorial Service for Joe Miranda will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. located at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark Ca 93021. Church will be open for Flower Deliveries at 8am.
