Joe David Lopez

Joe David Lopez was born to Suzano and Guadalupe Lopez on August 21, 1938. He was raised in Moorpark along with his brothers and sisters. Joe is also known by David or El "V". He worked for Ventura Pacific Sunkist where he started picking lemons and moving to running the machines that picked up the lemon bins. He then left and started work at Moorpark Unified School District where he retired just shy of 20 years. David married the love of his life, Lucy Lopez in 1980 and together they raised 4 children. David was very quiet and a humble man with very few words spoken. Although for those who he let in, they knew how funny he really was. He had many stories to share with most ending with a "Oooooohhhffffaaa" or a "never mind the weather". David attended and tailgated the USC Trojans football games with family for about 40 years. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He loved and supported them in whatever they did and never missed their football or soccer games. Joe David Lopez will be truly missed by all but will never be forgotten. His memory will live on through all the memories made. -"Never mind the weather". Visitation: Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5-9pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo. Funeral Service: Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11am located at the United Methodist Church in Moorpark. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
