Joan Clarice Collins

Joan Clarice Collins Oxnard, CA We are deeply sadden by the passing of mother, grandmother, sister, Joan Collins, 80. She was born Sept. 19th 1931 in Billerica Ma. and passed away on April 23, 2012 in Oxnard, CA surrounded by her loving family at home. Joan will be remembered as a strong, tough lady who fought her battle with cancer as long as she could. She loved to be with her family, go camping, eat out, and go on long car ride. She enjoyed gardening, spoiling her grandchildren and most of all, wanting to please everyone. While she was able to work she owned Blue Jay Restaurant in Oxnard with her husband. She also worked at B&D Lab ware, G&H Technology and finally retired from Sav-On Drugs. Joan is preceded in death by her parents-Albert and Elda Shedd, sister-Mae Ellen Metzler, husband-Michael Collins, daughter-Carolyn Holloway (Collins), and son-Michael J. She is survived by her daughter Carina (Collins) Loza (husband-Jerry), Grandchildren: Slade Lucken, Monique (Loza) Boswell (husband-Collin) and Richard Loza, and sister Florence (Shedd) Eldridge ( husband-Jim). As per her wishes there will be no services, but in lieu of flowers the family invites anyone who would like to donate to Assisted Home Hospice in Ventura as thanks for the wonderful job they did in helping care for her.
